Cayden is from Prineville, a small farm town in central Oregon. He has been involved in ministry for many years but has felt called to be a missionary in Japan. This calling began while he was a missionary intern in 2019, and he has been pursuing the calling since then. In February of 2025 he was appointed as a long-term missionary for Japan. While the first few years of his time on the field will include language school, he still hopes to become deeply connected with the community he finds himself in. His prior ministry experience mostly includes work with youth. One of the most impactful experiences for him was his time guiding mountaineering trips for Young Life at a camp in Canada called Beyond Malibu. He hopes to bring that experience and his passion for the outdoors with him to Japan.
“Though the fig tree may not blossom, Nor fruit be on the vines; Though the labor of the olive may fail, And the fields yield no food; Though the flock may be cut off from the fold, And there be no herd in the stalls— Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, And He will make me walk on my high hill."
